Tag: One Lovely Blogger Award

Hello world! We are baaack! I was nominated for this tag by  Eva with n (hello world is anybody here). Check out her blog! It’s really cool.

The rules are:

  • Post about the award
  • Share 7 facts about yourself
  • Nominate at most 15 people
  • Tell your nominees the good news!

My facts:

  1. I am a rower, and my hands are always covered in blisters as a result… Which makes typing and writing hard…
  2. I have a reaaally nice floor to ceiling bookshelf… in alphabetical order!
  3. I have a slide in my house. Instead of stairs. No seriously. I do. Don’t look at me like that!
  4. I really like candles. Like, I looooove candles. Looooove….
  5. I want to become a teacher and teach kids the amazingness of books. (? Does that make sense??)
  6. I have more physical books than ebooks even though I don’t mind ebooks and they are really easy to transport.
  7. I collect books, library and bookstore receipts, pens, notebooks and bookmarks. Collecting stamps is too expensive… but they are quite cheap… and sometimes I spend over $100 on books and stuff… (Mum! Stop reading this!) Meh.

I nominate:

Thanks for reading!

Book Tag: Totally Should’ve

Hello, fellow readers!

It’s Melia here with a book tag!

Today I will be doing the Totally Should’ve Book Tag. This was created by Emma @ emmmabooks. You can watch her video here.

I was not tagged to do this but I thought it would be something fun to do (and to make up for our lack of posting recently!).

Let’s get started!

1. Totally should’ve gotten a sequel

I haven’t read too many stand-alone novels recently and most of the ones that I have read worked really well on its own but All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven seriously deserves a sequel. I don’t really know what would happen in it but it would be pretty amazing.

2. Totally should’ve had a spin-off series

I am going to go with the obvious answer here. The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling. I know that there is a sort of spin-off (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) but we need more of the wizarding world!

3. An author who totally should write more books

I am definitely going to go with Victoria Aveyard. I absolutely adored Red Queen and Glass Sword (and I can’t wait for King’s Cage). I really hope that she writes more after this series is over!

4. A character who totally should’ve ended up with someone else

Eadlyn Schreve from The Selection Series. I can’t say anymore because of spoilers!!

5. Totally should’ve ended differently

I could easily use the same answer as I did for the last question but I am going to try and choose something else. The One by Sarah Crossan! I really think it should’ve ended differently!

6. Totally should’ve had a movie franchise

A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray should’ve had a movie franchise. I think the travelling through dimension would look super cool on the big screen.

7. Totally should’ve had a TV show

I would watch Girl Online by Zoe Sugg as a TV show. It would be super cool to see all of the casting. It would be a nice, light, fluffy show to brighten your mood.

8. Totally should’ve had only one point of view

The 5th Wave by Rick Yancy would be less confusing if it had one point of view. I can see why the author chose to use multiple POVs’ though.

9. Totally should have a cover change

I haven’t actually read this book (I want to) but I think that Solitare by Alice Oseman should have a cover change. The cover isn’t too bad, but I am not really a fan of it.

10. Totally should’ve kept the original covers

My answer to this is another book I haven’t read and that book is Unrivaled by Alison Noel. This book only recently got a cover change but I sort of preferred the original covers.

11. Totally should’ve stopped at book one

This is a difficult question. Mainly because most books are series because the story isn’t finished or something similar but I think that Matched by Ally Condie should’ve stopped at book one. I actually really enjoyed the first book but it went down hill from there.

I tag:

Anyone who wants to do this tag!

(I’m feeling lazy today! Sorry!!)

(Also, sorry for the lack of posting recently. We will try to post more often!)

Tag: The Sunshine Blogger Award

Hello! We may or may not being going AWOL after this! We are participating in NaNoWriMo this year, so, as the next month is November, writing combined with schoolwork= a total nightmare for the creators of this blog. So, massive apologies, and we will try to post at least a couple of times! And, I know, we just posted a tag. But, two days after isn’t too bad! (Technically, it was one, since I wrote this at 9pm on the 28/10/16 and decided to schedule it so it looked better!)

Book Tag: The Secret Life of a Book Blogger

Hello! It’s Melia here with another book tag!

I am so tired right now. I got off a very long flight last night and I am so jet lagged and there will be a lot of spelling mistakes in this post. *yawning*

Anyway, we were tagged by Cassiopeia’s Moon and we haven’t done a tag in a while so, here it is!

How long have you been a blogger?

We started blogging in February this year so, not very long.

At what point do you think you will stop?

Never. Never ever ever ever. We may be MIA every now and then when things get busy and all that but we will never stop.

What is the best part?

The best part is probably meeting new people and sharing thoughts and opinions. I also love writing posts for you guys!

What is the worst part?

Hmmm… probably juggling blogging with school, reading, writing and just life in general.

How long does it take you to find/create pictures to use?

It doesn’t take more than ten minutes usually. It depends on whether I am creating the picture or just finding the cover of a book.

What author would you like to have on your blog?

I would love to have Cassandra Clare or Sarah J. Maas or Victoria Aveyard or Leigh Bardugo or Rick Riordan. To have any of these authors on The Immortal Readers would be so unbelievably amazing.

What do you wear when you write your blog?

I just wear whatever I have been wearing all day. Right now, I am wearing my PJs. They’re very comfortable.❤

How long does it take you to prepare a post?

Depends on the type of post. If it is a review, it usually takes longer than a book haul because I need to find all of the information like page count and ISBN.

What do you think one should do to have a successful blog?

Don’t give up. I know it sounds really cliche but it is true. If you stop posting, no one will read because, obviously, there won’t be anything to read. Post often. If you only post once or twice a month, people won’t come back to your blog.

I tag

Chanda @ Chanda Reads Books, for being our latest follower.

Luxe @ Mind of Luxe, to welcome her back.

Danielle @ Books, Vertigo and Tea, for commenting and just being all round awesome!

And, I tag whoever wants to do it!

You don’t need to do this tag!

Book Tag: Zombie Apocalypse Team

I was not tagged to do this but I saw this on Dreamland Book Blog and I wanted to do it. So, kudos to Beatrice.

  1. Pick 5 books
  2. Turn to a random page
  3. The first name you see gets to be on your zombie survival team.

Chosen books:

  1. Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas. (Been reading it since the day it came out and now I am re-reading it! And probably will again and again until September 2017. Fun! Will probably be reviewed by all three Immortal Readers.)
  2. The Memory Book by Lara Avery. (Review coming soon!)
  3. All Fall Down by Ally Carter. (Book Review: All Fall Down)
  4. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. (If You Like This, Then You’ll Love This… Not really but as close as I could find!)
  5. Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. (Book Review: Hunger Games)

Let the Games begin! (Get it?!)

From Hunger Games, the two tributes will be…

a) Peeta Mellark

Thank the good lord! We get food! And bread. Good bread…

b) Effie Trinket

We are all doomed. Thanks, Effie.

From All Fall Down, we have the following people:

a) Alexei Volkov

… Are we saved? I dunno. Maybe. I would prefer to have Jamie though…

b) Ms Chancellor

Well at least Ms Chancellor can fight! *laughs hysterically like only a fangirl can laugh*

From Empire of Storms, we have these two Fae…

a) Rowan Whitethorn

WE ARE SAVED! We will survive the zombie apocalypse. WE HAVE ROWAN!

giphy (1).gif

b) Maeve ? (What is Maeve’s last name… Does she have one?!)

Maeve is evil but she is powerful…

I feel like this is Maeve and she wants Aelin’s heart in a box…

From City of Bones, we have the following:

a) Magnus Bane, the sparkly warlock!

We will have glitter?

b) Jocelyn Fairchild

She is kind of kick-butt?

From the Memory Book, we have the following people who are about to burst into tears!:

a) Sammie McCoy

We. Are. Doomed.

b) Stuart Shah

Stu can document our travels as we save ourselves! And the world of course…

Ah, the irony! We may be saved but maybe not… Maeve will probably join the zombies…

I tag…
