Reviews
We will write reviews for books that we really enjoyed or really didn’t enjoy, not every book we read. Our reviews are written in a newspaper format with the genre, age recommendation and page count but they are not meant to be objective literary critiques. Our thoughts section will be written as if casually talking to a friend.
We write honest reviews. This does not mean that we will always write positive reviews. Our reviews are our opinion.
If we do not enjoy a book, we will not say that it was just plain bad, but we will say that is just wasn’t our type of book and why we didn’t like it. We will point out that others will like it and the review is just our opinions.
If we do not finish a book, we will state why and where we stopped. We will also add whether or not we plan on reading the book again.
If you would like more information about how we review, please click the links bellow. It will send you to a review that we have written previously.

Hi Melia and Laurena!
I just sent Ally a six-page long book request for my Historical Fiction novel “The 45th Nail”. You’re lucky. You get a short version of the request here.
Here’s the book’s website, which is on a single page, has a book trailer and is entirely gluten-free:

I am also open to guest blogging and interviews. My author website is below.

Melia and Laurena,
The policy says you accept ebooks from April 30 to Aug 1st this year. Does that mean you are no longer accepting ebooks? Would you accept ebooks that were published during that time frame?
Thanks!

Yes! We will still accept ebooks. We were planning to update the review policy for this reason but didn’t get around to it.
Thanks for clarifying!

Thanks for your prompt response!
I just emailed Ally, but I want to make this available to Melia and Laurena as well. Besides, I’m a big user of goodreads and saw on your FAQ that Ally may not have one.
Royal Deception is the first YA fantasy novel in my blade shifter trilogy, which is a retelling of the Lion King, except set in a fantasy world with kings and peasants and swords rather than lions and hyenas.
A Prince who can shift his arms into swords, a tutor who can shift his arms into wings, and a madman who wants to kill them both . . . .
Prince Symon is a living weapon. Literally. Descended from a diminishing line of royal blade shifters, thirteen-year-old Symon can shift his arms into swords. He thinks nothing can harm him until merfolk kill his younger brother.
What can Symon do when faced with things he can’t fight, like nightmares foretelling his death? Or a kingdom on the brink of civil war? Torn between his uncle who persecutes animal shifters and his tutor who is a bird shifter, Symon feels powerless to protect his kingdom, let alone himself. When Symon and his best friend Lana are targeted by Claur, a foreign rebel determined to usurp the throne, magic alone will not save them.
Symon will have to choose whom to trust, and whom to kill.

Dear Laurena,
My name is Peter Petrack. I’m an author in the process of publishing my novel, Wayfarers Highway. It’s a story with elements of fantasy, mystery, and adventure. It doesn’t necessarily fit perfectly into some bookstores’ classification of genre. I like the friendly tone of your blog and the depth of your reviewing style.
Wayfarers Highway is being primarily marketed as adventure/urban fantasy. The print copy is 290 pages.
A camper travels the back roads of America, but it is not what it seems. Pursued by powerful forces: a mastermind, a maniac, and a terrorist, its crew wonders if they’ll ever reach Journey’s end.
When Eloise Corwin – a longtime patient in her desert hometown’s infirmary – finds a wounded young traveler sharing her sick room; she insists that he tell her about his adventures. The young man, Orson Gregory, tells her how he found and stole a glowing gemstone, hidden for decades beneath the government-built factory beside his family farm. He tells her how he’s been chased ever since – by mercenaries, by terrorists, and by other, stranger enemies. He tells her how he threw in his lot with a real adventurer, a mythology professor, an innkeeper, and a duo of hired guns on a cross-country journey to clear his name and return home – something he’s currently failing to do. To reach safety, the motley travelers will first have to deal with each other, evade the foes that follow their every move, and tangle with other forces both strange and powerful, their fellow travelers on the Wayfarers Highway.
