The Hamilton Book Tag

Hello!

This is Laurena. I feel really bad because oh look! no blog posts!

BUT I AM IN FINANCIAL LITERACY, I HAVE FINISHED THE FINANCIAL LITERACY WORK, I HAVE A TROJAN HORSE TO BUILD, A SCIENCE TEST TO STUDY FOR, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT? YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN NEGLECTED BUT YOU ARE ALL STILL FREAKING AMAZING SO….

BOOK TAG!

Ok. Here we go.

The Room Where It Happens

~a book world you would put yourself in~

This is obvious. I would live in Harry Potter’s world, and overthrow Voldemort because that plan had some serious holes in it and I think I would rule that world better.

YAY! QUEEN LAURENA FOR THE WIN!

The Schuyler Sisters

~an underrated female character~

I normally read books with pretty strong female characters, so this is going to be hard…

So. I gave up. I picked from a movie.

Mulan saved a whole lotta people and China, and basically got a thank you and a marriage proposal so she could basically be a housewife.

But honestly. She joined the army illegally and killed a lot of bad people. She is my hero.

My Shot

~a character who goes after what they want and don’t let anything stop them~

Alina from Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone.

That was actually so hard to decide though…

You'll Be Back

~sassiest villain~

Astrid Dane from a Darker Shade of Magic.

“The bodies in my floor all trusted someone. Now I walk on them to tea.”

Yes girl.

Non-Stop

~a book series you marathoned~

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare…

In year 7, I no joke read them all in like a week. It was an amazing week.

Satisfied

~favourite book with multiple PoVs~

…CARRY ON BY RAINBOW ROWELL! (Have I been so infected by the need to watch Supernatural that I had the strongest urge to write ‘Carry on my wayward son…’

But honest to god. I would not be able to live with just Simon’s pov. I NEED MY BABY BAZ OKAY DOES ANYONE HAVE A PROBLEM?

Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story

~a book/series that will be remembered throughout history~

I’ve mentioned this before, in my last blog post, but this book is unanimously the Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. My god that man is brilliant.

Helpless

~a relationship you were rooting for from the start~

SNOWBAZ (or Snazzleton which is so much better) has been a ship I have shipped from the moment it untied it’s rope-thing from the docks and left the port behind. LET IT SAIL, RAINBOW ROWELL!

Ten Duel Commandments

~favourite fight scene~

I love all fight scenes…ever. I really do, but my favourite has got to be Aedion and Aelin in Queen of Shadows concerning you-know-whatbecauseohmygod. It’s unconventional, but perfect and amazing and I love Rowan.

Say No To This

~a guilty pleasure read~

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. They are all so brilliant, and my babies and I’ll just go cry in the corner yes.

What Comes Next

~a series you wish had more books~

The Gentleman Bastard sequence. Scott Lynch, where are my books?

Scott Lynch is 39… so here’s hoping he doesn’t die of old age before the seventh book is out! (DID I JUST JINX THAT?! PLEASE TELL ME I DIDN’T!)

Also, note to self, buy new copy of The Lies of Locke Lamora because ohmilordhaveyouseenthatcover?!

Right Hand Man

~favourite BROTP~

This would have to be Ronan and Blue from The Raven Boys. They are amazing and pure cupcakes.

“No homework. I got suspended,” Blue replied.
“Get the f*ck out,” Ronan said, but with admiration. “Sargent, you a**hole.”

What'd I Miss

~a book or series you were late to reading~

Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

A book has never held me so strongly in it’s thrall;

To cover my tears, around my head was a shawl;

Oh look, my heart just exploded on the wall;

I do believe that my heart exploding is becoming quite banal.

I told you all I was a poet.

Stay Alive

~a character you wish was still alive~

No. Nonononononono. Haha no. I choose: you-know-who from you-know-what. Ambiguous and I can say a lot of things as an answer.

But it’s actually you-know-who from Our Dark Duet by V.E. Schwab. I swear that woman is trying to kill us.

Burn

~the most heartbreaking end to a relationship~

THE RELATIONSHIP in Brandon Sanderson’s Hero of Ages broke my heart. I’ll go cry in a corner now.

The Reynolds Pamphlet

~a book with a twist you didn’t see coming~

Illuminae. Goddamnit. Why.

But thank you.

ALSO, Obsidio. haveyouseenthatcover?
