*silence* And then she stared across the empty space, that was now her brain. Me. My brain. Iluminae killed my brain. *explosion sounds*.
(Sorry, shouldn’t joke about apocalypses. Rest in peace YA characters.)
Prior to reading Illuminae, it had been sitting on my shelf for over a month and a half. This was mainly due to the fact that the inside of the book looked roughly like a printer vomited, and so I was questioning why anyone would write a book like that. And then I picked it up.
The first few pages were confusing as I adjusted to the new format, however, I soon found myself emersed in my new obsession- a world filled with awesome sciency stuff-*melia points out that ‘sciency’ is not a word*- like spaceships and artificial intelligence. Illuminae is a crazy whirlwind, but honestly, I did not want it to end. The printer vomit was actually what made the book so incredible and not to mention the amazing aesthetically pleasing images! As for flaws, I have no complaints to speak of, aside from the bloody (Artery joke- no swearing I promise :))mess it left my heart in… and the attack which I didn’t think was adequately explained, but hopefully, they will unravel this knot in the third book.
I would highly, very much so recommend Illuminae with a 97% and a ‘WOW’ stamp. It really is a new and unforgettable experience!
