Book Tag: To Not To Read Tag

We have been doing a lot of tags lately. I love doing tags, though, so it’s no problem with me!

It’s Melia and I am going to be doing the To Not To Read Tag! This tag was created by Icebreaker694 who also tagged us.

Before we start, I am going to tell you about my current reading crisis! I just finished The 100 by Kass Morgan and I loved it so much and I can’t get my hands on the next book and I have no interest in reading anything other than that and I am going to die!

Anyway, let’s start,

Thank the person who tagged you

Answer the questions with books you DNF

Tag people!

1. A book you’d be willing to finish

Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger

For my Summer TBR Wipeout 2016, I was going to read this book. I didn’t get too far before putting it down, but I would still love to finish it. It sounds so good and I really want to get into this series. I guess I just wasn’t in the mood.

2. A dystopian book that you put down

Flawed by Cecelia Ahern

I do want to try reading this book again. I only put it down because of the reading slump that I am in right now. I am in the mood for nothing but The 100. If you have any recommendations for books like The 100, please let me know!

3. A book that you just didn’t want to finish at all

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

At first, I did want to read it. I thought it had more fantasy than it does. I got, maybe 100 pages in before just putting it down. I don’t have any interest in picking it up again. I know that a lot of people love this book so much, but it’s just not for me.

4. A sequel

The Winner’s Kiss by Marie Rutkoski

I loved the first book and I liked the second, but when I got to this one, the excitement had just drained out of me. After I put it down, I quickly skimmed the ending. I was curious about how it ended, but I didn’t want to read anymore. *sighs* I had such high hopes for this book yet I was a bit unsure.

5. A book you will never pick up again

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

I went into this book with such high hopes only to be thrown into it, confused and irritated. The characters just annoyed me and I had no idea whar was going on. I am not picking this book up again.

6. A book with too much hype

I am just going to go with my previous answer for this question as well. What? I am not lazy!

7. A haunting read

Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter

This is the only horror book I have ever read and let’s just say it has put me off horror completely. I stopped about 100 pages in. It had me up a midnight looking for zombies out my window. *shudders*

8. A contemporary

I don’t have an answer for this question because I am not a big contemporary reader. I have read a few contemporary’s, but I finished them all. Wow, that is something I have wanted to say for awhile.

9. A book you were unsure of

All Fall Down by Ally Carter

I was a bit iffy about reading this book, but I didn’t have anything else to read at the time. My instincts were right (Obviously! *tosses hair back*) and I ended up putting it down and not having any interest in reading it again.

I tag…

Kayla @ Kdrewkthebookworm

Gretchen @ Chic Nerd Reads

As always, don’t feel obligated to doing this tag. If you don’t want to you don’t have to. It’s only for fun!

  1. Thank you for the tag, Melia! 😀 I’d be more than happy to answer this one but I don’t have enough DNFed book to finish this, LOL. I’ll still be doing this though, because tags are always a lot of fun, although my post might have to sit in my drafts for a very long time (as my DNFed books pile up). Thanks again! ❤

  2. I really enjoyed all your answers! 😀 Alice in Zombieland looked rather scary to me, I really don’t like zombies. And I agree with The Maze Runner. I saw the movie and loved it but I could not open the book, I don’t really know why.

  3. I quite liked some of these books! I guess I just don’t DNF very often. Maybe one or two books I don’t plan to finish? Others I’ve just had to send back to the library, etc., but I totally plan on getting them again.
As for a 100 recommendation…. If you’re looking for the post-apocalyptic thing, maybe City of Ember? After the first book, the idea is a lot more similar.
For the space thing, I would recommend Cress by Marissa Meyer (I know it’s the third book, but YOU HAVE TO READ THE WHOLE SERIES.)
Aaaaaaand for the general teenage criminal vibe, I would have to say The Lunar Chronicles (again)!
