Review: Heir of Fire and Queen of Shadows:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! *hyperventalating* I NEED THE NEXT BOOK!

The above more or less describes my mood when I finallly finished Queen Of Shadows after roughly three hours of solid reading. I know what your thinking- (THAT LONG?! HOW DID YOU SURVIVE?), well, I can tell you, it was painful wanting to finish the book but not wanting to finish it. The hard, hard life of a very devoted fangirl.

However, before I continue with my chivalrous tale of managing to not throw the book through the window when the author tried to kill one of my favourite characters, (it’s a looooooooong story), I should probably do the intro.

Hi, guys and welcome back to The Immortal Readers book blog, with your host: Ally!!!!!!. *Laurena politely tells me to shut my pie hole*  Anywho, I would like to  apologise for being MIA for a few…. weeks. Oops. Middle School has been super busy and with my birthday coming up next week, I hardly have had time to write at all with all my assessments and what not. However, as you can see from the title and very advantageous first paragraph, I did manage to squeeze in time to catch up on the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. And so, the review begins:

My Amazing and Awe-inspiring thoughts:

As you can clearly see just from reading the first few sentences, I loved reading these books! They were absolutely incredible and- dare I say it? They were…. better than Percy Jackson. I loved the amount of sass and light-hearted laughter and jokes mingling with the sheer awesomeness of Celeana Sardothien, Assassin and Friend. Not only does this book deserve the five-star rating, but like the Percy Jackson series, I would even go far enough to give it a six out of five. As you can tell, I am not known for brilliance at fractions- or maths for that matter…. To be completely honest, and I’m sure those who have read the series will agree, I have no words that would describe how good these books are. My favourite being Queen Of Shadows, of course. Sarah J Maas has not only mastered the fantasy genre with assassins, queens, deceit, romance and a little bit of Rowan (hehe), but she has also incorporated the mystery genre too, with incredible plots that come to play when you least expected. But, of course, like any good reviewer, there is one thing that I have to instruct my readers on; the golden fictional character death rule. And, (silent prayer of thanks to Sarah J. Maas) I am happy to say that no one reaaaaaalllly important dies. But there are still deaths. Lots of deaths.

So in conclusion,

I rate this book five and a half stars (Melia informed me that there is no such thing as six out of five stars and was quite adamant) with outstanding praise and I set the age rating at thirteen and up. For both amazing and incredible books.

-Ally 🙂

    1. Queen of Shadows and Heir of Fire are my two favourite books in the series! (No, not because they have Rowan in them, why would you think that? *nervous laughter*) I can’t wait for Empire of Storms though! I mean, have you seen the cover? I have it as my desktop background! Ally, the wuss, is making me read it before her. She was rather melodramatic about the whole a Court of Mist and Fury thing and needs to know if it happens in the book, and the page numbers so she could avoid them. I got to be her guinea pig. Yippee! I should probably take three weeks to read it, just to spite Ally! But I still can’t wait! Thank you for your reply, it was lovely hearing from you!

      1. Ahh!! Lol. The cover is gorgeous and that book is humongous! But I think it’s going to be so worth it. So much is going to happen and there’s so many unanswered questions. I need it now! Lol. I love Rowan ❤️
