General Information:

Pages: 295

Publisher: Scholastic

Series: The Magisterium

Genre: Fantasy

Author: Holly Black and Cassandra Clare

Rating: 4.5/5

Extra Notes: I believe that I have mentioned this book in a previous post: How to write a stronger character.

Synopsis: Most kids would do anything to pass the Iron Trial.

Not Callum Hunt. He wants to fail.

All his life, Call has been warned by his father to stay away from magic. If he succeeds at the Iron Trial and is admitted into the Magisterium, he is sure it can only mean bad things for him.

So he tries his best to do his worst – and fails at failing.

Now the Magisterium awaits him. It’s a place that’s both sensational and sinister, with dark ties to his past and a twisty path to his future.

The Iron Trial is just the beginning, for the biggest test is still to come . . .

My Thoughts: I loved the characters that Holly Black and Cassandra Clare brought to life. I found them everything a character should be. They should have fears and weaknesses, they should love, and should be loved. They should lose and feel loss. The characters in this book had all of the above.

To sum it up, I loved this book and I simply can’t wait to hold the next books in my hands.
