Hi, it’s Melia and I am going to be doing the Candy Book Tag.
This is another pretty old tag, but is sounds really fun. The Candy Book tag was originally created by Bookish Serendipity. I was not tagged to do this but, lets give it a go.
- Apples
- Black Jelly Beans
- Chocolate Kisses
- Gummy Spiders
- Jumbo Lollipop
- Cotton Candy
Apples
A book that is very popular but just wasn’t for you
For this question I chose Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. I know that almost everyone in the book blogging world loved this series and the writing and all that, but I could not stand how sentences were crossed out and then replaced by something else.
Black Jelly Beans
A book you cannot believe was published
Even if I hate, hate, hate a book I always know that someone else in the world really enjoyed it and maybe, it just wasn’t for me. I do not have an answer for this question but if you do, please let me know in the comments.
Chocolate Kisses
A book that had the perfect romance
The Selection by Kiera Cass is my go to recommendation for anyone who wants a good romance with a hint of dystopian. I loved this series so much and I cannot wait for The Crown, the final book in The Selection (Coming out May 3rd!!!!)
Gummy Spiders
A book that made you jump out of your skin
I am not someone who will willingly read a horror novel. Go chat to Laurena if you need a good horror novel in your life. I have read a few frightening books over the years, all equally nerve-racking, but the most recent was Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. This book wasn’t horror, but every time I stopped reading, I felt like I was in Kady’s shoes. Trust me, her life is filled with fear.
Jumbo Lollipop
A book that you finished, but took you a long time
My definition of ‘thick book’ is 750+ pages and I haven’t read very many books that thick but I will be reading Winter by Marissa Meyer in the next few months, (keep your eyes peeled for a review), and I am planning on finishing it.
Cotton Candy
A book you loved when you were younger and admittedly you still love it now
I have two answers for this question and they are…
Any Enid Blyton book
Percy Jackson/ Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan
I have always adored Enid Blyton’s books and I am planning on reading more of them when I get the time. I mainly read YA/Teen Fiction but I always need a good middle grade book to get me out of a reading slump. A Percy Jackson re-read is my go to. I read Blood of Olympus in Year 5 and I still think about the characters all the time.
Hi, do you have any good horror novels? I love horror, they are like my favourite genre at the moment! Thanks!

Hi Amy, I am absolutely thrilled to hear from you! I love this series called Bad Girls Don’t Die. It is a really good three book series, unless there is more and I haven’t noticed, and I would really recommend it to you.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Laurena😇
